PORT HADLOCK – The speed limit will be lowered temporarily on state Highway 116 near Port Hadlock beginning Monday.
The speed limit will be reduced from 40 mph to 35 mph between mileposts 4.5 and 4.9 near Robbins Road.
The state Department of Transportation is temporarily reducing the speed limit to allow utility crews to relocate utilities in advance of an upcoming fish barrier correction project.
Travelers should expect reduced speed limits through the duration of the project, which involves building a new bridge to access Marrowstone Island.
The bridge project is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2020.
