Hercules, the 14-pound lobster, continues to find acclaim as he is reintroduced to his Atlantic habitat from a Port Angeles supermarket’s lobster tank.
A short video titled “Hercules’ Flight to Freedom” could be seen on the New England Cable News Web site Thursday. Cable officials said the story will remain on the Web site, www.necn.com, today.
Hercules, estimated to be 50 to 70 years old, is now contained in the waters of Friendship, Maine, harbor under the close watch of biologists. He should be freed in about 10 days.
Stevens Middle School students arranged for the lobster, which was for sale for $200 last week at Albertsons Food and Drug in Port Angeles, to be returned to Maine with the help of Albertsons, other local businesses and the cargo carrier FedEx.
