The owner of the North Olympic Peninsula’s door-to-door shuttle service to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport says he hopes of expanding his company’s operations to help make up for the loss of Horizon Air in Port Angeles.
“We hope to use this as a way of getting 24-hour service,” Kevin Harris, a Port Townsend businessman, said Sunday of his Pennco Transportation.
Pennco offers shuttle service originating from Forks to Port Ludlow, making numerous trips from 2 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends from the North Olympic Peninsula.
“We want to expand our services and continue to offer affordable service to and from Sea-Tac,” Harris said.
A separate company, Olympic Bus Lines, offers two round trips to Sea-Tac daily from fixed locations in Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend.
Pennco, with offices in Carlsborg and Port Ludlow, has 35 employees, including 20 drivers.
Service includes vans and small buses handling up to 15 passengers, Harris said.
Horizon representatives almost two weeks ago announced they were pulling out of William R. Fairchild International Airport effective Jan. 7 because they were losing money on the Port Angeles-Seattle route.
