Gregoire plans change for Sequim campaign visit; two other locales on route

Gov. Chris Gregoire’s campaign visit to Sequim will be at the John Wayne Marina from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, after a breakfast meeting that day in Port Angeles.

Clallam County Democrats have changed the site of the governor’s Sequim visit to the marina from the originally scheduled location of the party’s office at 150 S. Fifth St., Suite 1, Sequim.

The appearance is one of three that Gregoire will make today and Monday during a campaign swing through the North Olympic Peninsula.

The Democratic governor, who is defending her seat from Republican Dino Rossi, will give a keynote address at the Jefferson County Democrats’ 14th annual “Fish Feast” today.

Her speech will be in the Erickson Building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 4907 Landes St., Port Townsend.

A no-host beer and wine bar will open at 4 p.m., and dinner will be served at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $41 for adults; $15 for youth 12 to 18; and free for children 12 and younger.

For more information, phone 360-379-5655.

On Monday, Gregoire will appear at a special breakfast in Port Angeles before traveling to the John Wayne Marina.

The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce will shift its regular luncheon meeting to a 7:30 a.m. breakfast with the governor at the Port Angeles CrabHouse Restaurant in the Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St.

In the 2004 election, Gregoire edged out Rossi in the third count of ballots cast across the state in the gubernatorial race.
