Greek mythology headed for Port Angeles High School stage starting Thursday with ‘Olympiaganza’

PORT ANGELES — Battling narrators and audience participation will combine with Greek mythology in a Port Angeles High School Thespian Society production that will begin Thursday.

“A Greek Mythology Olympiaganza” will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday, at the auditorium stage at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. Park Ave.

Tickets will be available at the door. They are $7 for seniors and students and $8 for general admission. Children younger than 10 will be admitted free.

Playscripts, Inc., promises “general theatrical insanity” during the play that ranges from such famous myths as Pandora’s Box, Jason and the Argonauts and Hercules with obscure stories such as the myth of Linus and the legend of the Argus.

“Culminating in a bizarre, musical dance-influenced version of The Iliad complete with a full-scale battle of little green army men, this play is wild, silly, and a complete blast for audiences of all ages,” Playscripts, Inc. said.

The play is directed by Kelly Lovall, high school drama coach and advisor.

The actors are Maria Soule, Hope Winsor, Annie Robertson, Tiara Delatorre, Madison Millet, Ashley Houston, Jessica Bernier, Lily Robertson, Jasmine Cottam, Cassidy Tamburo, Calista Baker, Madelynne Jones, Shayla Smith, Hannah Black, Mathilde Warda, Amelie Atwater, Sammy Weihert, Anli Guttormsen, Milo Atwater, Daimon Batchelor, Emmitt Szczepczynski, Ben Arnold, Rylan MacDonald, Christian Curtis and Mauritz Ahlburg.

Crew and designers are Kacey Casad, Freja Jamegren-Uecker, Claire Fritschler, Gillian Elofson, Audrey Little, Mercedes Shimko, Zoe Tucker and Charlotte Hertel.

The set was designed by Maria Soule and Forest Clark.

Costumes were designed by Kristin Kirkman, and light and sound were designed by Noah Meredith.
