Gordon hired to manage Port Townsend Creative District

PORT TOWNSEND — Mitzi Jo Gordon has been hired as the manager of the Port Townsend Creative District.

Gordon will implement the district’s newly created arts and culture plan.

Gordon was born in Philadelphia and holds Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from New York University in New York City.

She is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and researcher; her work centers on socially engaged collaboration and reclaimed materials at every scale.

Gordon’s background in the arts, fundraising and project management includes roles at The Dali Museum, Street Lab, the Tampa Museum of Art, Creative Pinellas and the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts.

“We are excited to have Mitzi join our team,” said Mari Mullen, executive director of the Port Townsend Main Street Program. “She is deeply committed to the arts, creative place-making and community-building among artists. She looks forward to helping implement the goals and strategies of the newly completed arts and culture plan which maps the next steps of the creative district.”
