PORT ANGELES — The Nov. 6 general election enters its final lap today.
Ballots will be mailed today to more than 77,500 voters in Clallam and Jefferson counties. The ballots are due in drop boxes or at county auditors’ offices by 8 p.m. Nov. 6 or must be postmarked by Nov. 6.
Voters in both counties will cast ballots for contested races for the U.S. Senator, 6th District U.S. House of Representatives, state Supreme Court Justice Position 8, and the 24th District in the state House of Representatives, Positions 1 and 2.
Clallam County voters will cast ballots for contested races for West End-Port Angeles-District 3 county commissioner, sheriff, prosecuting attorney-coroner, director of community development, District Courts 1 and 2 and county Public Utility District 1 commissioner.
The countywide races are for sheriff, prosecuting attorney and director of community development.
More than 52,400 Clallam County voters will be mailed ballots.
There are uncontested races for assessor, auditor and treasurer.
Jefferson County voters will cast ballots for contested races for Quilcene-area District 3 county commissioner, sheriff, prosecuting attorney-coroner, District Court judge and county Public Utility District, District 3 commissioner.
They are all countywide races.
There are uncontested races for assessor, auditor, treasurer and clerk.
Ballots will be mailed to more than 25,200 Jefferson County voters.
Oct. 29 is the last day for in-person registration to vote in the general election for residents not already registered in Washington state.
