Cities across the North Olympic Peninsula will offer to celebrate Independence day.
Forks will celebrate Independence Day today through Monday, while other cities will celebrate only on the Fourth of July.
FORKS
The $10 tickets for Monday’s Demo Derby in Tillicum Park will be available at the Rainforest Arts Center n Friday; Forks Outfitters from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, next to the Sacks Tournament on Sunday, and near the Tillicum Park Arena after the Grand Parade ends on Monday.
Today
• 5 p.m. — Frog jump, Tillicum Park.
• 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Sasquatch Skate Party on Forks Avenue between Calawah and Division streets. Free entry. Participants must provide their own skates and safety gear.
• 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Moonlight Madness sponsored by West End Business and Professional Association WEBPA).
Forks Avenue will be closed between Calawah and Bogachiel streets. Music will be provided by DJ Camello. A car bash skate party and vendors are planned.
Saturday
• 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. — American Legion July Breakfast, 651 E. Division St. at Maple Avenue. Suggested donation of $10. Dine-in or takeaway options,
• 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. — Fun Run registration for a walk or run 1-mile, 5K or 10K. The entry fee is $10. Meet in the parking lot behind Mocha Motion on Forks Avenue, Race begins at 9 a.m. Sponsored by Forks Community Hospital United Way Committee. Proceeds will go to United Way of Clallam County.
• 8:30 a.m. — Horseshoe Tournament sign-ups at Tillicum Park. The tourney begins at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $10,
• 9 a.m. — Fourth of July 3 on 3 registration at Tillicum Park basketball courts or Spartan gym if raining. The tournament starts at 10 a.m. $10 per child, four maximum per team. Benefits Forks High School Boys/Girls basketball programs.
• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Friends of Forks Library book sale at Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave.; $5 per bag.
• 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Archery Tag Tournament, sponsored by Forks Old Fashioned 4th of July Committee and run by Forks Police Department, $25 per team or $5 per person, five-person teams, ages 12 and up, Tillicum Park ball fields.
• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Forks Open Aire Market in the parking lot next to Sully’s Drive-In, 220 N. Forks Ave.

• 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. — 2nd Annual “Paddle Battle in Forks” Pickleball Tournament sponsored by Rain of Terror, $5 entry fee (40 people maximum).

On Saturday, the Production Alliance will host Field Day at Fort Worden from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

• 7 p.m. — Games such as Tug of War, Walnut Sack Races and Watermelon Eating Contest.

Sequim
The City of Sequim brings back its Independence Day Celebration for the second year with fireworks, live music, food and drinks.
• 3 p.m. — Sequim City Band’s annual “A Patriotic 4th of July Concert” at the James Center for the Performing Arts, 506 N. Blake Ave.

Port Angeles
A nationally-touring Beatles cover band, Abbey Road, a parade, children’s activities, a big fireworks show and other events are planned at or around City Pier and The Gateway.
• 11 a.m. — Apple Pie Baking Contest, and the Corndog & Cornhole Tournament. Pies should be delivered to the judges at the Port Angeles Wharf, next to the Port Angeles Visitor Center. Judging starts at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per team.
• Noon — The Port Angeles Lefties will host a Beer Garden at Pebble Beach Park; a Kids Zone is set for The Gateway.
• 1 p.m. — Hot Dog Eating contest.
• 3 p.m. — Lawn Mower Derby in the parking lot at 121 W Front St.
• 6 p.m. — Parade through downtown with KONP’s Scooter Chapman as the grand marshal. The judges’ stand and announcers will be located at the intersection of Front and Laurel streets. The winner of the outstanding float will receive $1,000 among other prizes.
• 8 p.m. — Abbey Road takes the stage. The concert will end just before the annual fireworks begin at about 10:15 p.m..
