Four people injured in three-car collision

DIAMOND POINT — Four people were injured in a three-car collision at U.S. Highway 101 and Diamond Point Road.

Ronak Ved, 27, of Bellevue was driving a 2025 Lexus NX southbound on Diamond Point Road about 7:44 p.m. Friday when he failed to yield the right of way as he attempted to cross Highway 101 to Chicken Coop Road, the State Patrol said.

Ved’s vehicle was hit by a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by Aaron Warner, 51, of Seattle. Emma Mudrock, 34, of Seattle, was a passenger in the Silverado, which was traveling westbound on Highway 101, the State Patrol said.

After the Silverado struck the Lexus, both vehicles collided with a 2017 Toyota Highlander driven by Laura Oliver, 79, of Sequim. William Vaughn, 78, of Sequim was a passenger in the Highlander, the State Patrol said.

The Highlander was in the center turn lane of eastbound Highway 101, waiting to turn onto Diamond Point Road, the State Patrol said.

Ved was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was in satisfactory condition as of Monday afternoon, hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg said.

Ved may face charges of driving under intoxication of drugs or alcohol, the State Patrol said.

Warner was transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles while Mudrock was not injured, the State Patrol said.

Oliver and Vaughn both were transported to Olympic Medical Center, the State Patrol said.

All five people involved were wearing seat belts, the agency added.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene and were totally destroyed, the State Patrol said.
