A pair of public forums with District 3 Clallam County commissioner candidates will take place Wednesday.
The first will be in Forks, where the Shelter Providers Network meeting will feature a forum with the candidates.
Both the meeting at
9 a.m. and the candidate forum from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. are open to the public in the Forks Community Center, 91 Maple Ave.
Shelter providers meet in Forks each July to take a focused look at ending homelessness in the West End, said coordinator Martha Ireland.
“The West End commissioner seat is open this year, and there are three contenders, so the group wanted a chance to learn their views on issues related to ending homelessness and providing housing that is affordable for all residents,” Ireland said.
All three candidates — Bill Peach, Bryon Monohon and Sissi Bruch — have committed to participate, she said.
Peach, a Republican living in Forks, is a retired forester and Quillayute Valley Parks and Recreation District commissioner. Monohon, mayor of Forks, filed as an independent. Bruch, a Democrat, is a Port Angeles City Council member.

The Port Angeles forum, the last presented by the Clallam County League of Women Voters for primary candidates, will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
The three commissioner candidates will be in attendance to answer questions from the moderator and the public, said Linda Benson, chair of the league’s Voter Services Committee.
Announcements on League of Women Voters general election debates and forums will be made after the Aug. 5 primary.
