TACOMA — The former owner of the Sellin’ Style car dealership in Sequim was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to 11 years in prison and five years of supervised release for methamphetamine possession and sales.
Timothy P. Smith 31, pleaded guilty in January to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, said acting U.S. Attorney Annette L. Hayes.
Smith was arrested last February after a high speed chase.
U.S. District Judge Robert J. Bryan said during sentencing that Smith was the organizer of an “ongoing, long-term, large conspiracy” involving “weapons and violent undertones.”
Smith sold methamphetamine to a person working with law enforcement on several occasions in June, July and August 2013 near his car dealership on Old Blyn Highway near Sequim, authorities said.
Law enforcement also said that Smith sold meth in Port Angeles and conducted deals with suppliers at several locations in Kitsap County.
The U.S. Attorney said that one of Smith co-conspirators, Tammy R. Coburn, was sentenced last month to 18 months in prison.
Other defendants — Kelsey J. Davis, Holli A. Bell, Jacob E. Davis, and Charles D. Aslin — have also pleaded guilty in the case and are pending sentencing.
The case was investigated by the FBI, ATF, and Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory A. Gruber.
