PORT ANGELES — Graham Kerr, international culinary expert and television personality, will be guest speaker at the Port Angeles Education Foundation’s annual “Celebrate Education” dinner May 21.
Kerr, who was television’s “Galloping Gourmet” in the late 1960s and early 1970s, introduced his fans all over the world to the milieu of food as a source of entertainment.
Joining Kerr will be his wife and television partner, Treena Kerr.
Kerr is now one of the leading proponents in helping people to make healthy and creative lifestyle changes.
Treena Kerr, who produced the early “Galloping Gourmet” shows, is an active creative partner in the Kerr Corp. and a sought-after speaker for many different groups and occasions.
“Graham Kerr is one of today’s most powerful and visionary voices,” said Port Angeles School District Superintendent Gary Cohn.
“His personal lifestyle changes and choices are a significant message for our students and community.”
During his visit, the British-born Kerr will meet and talk with students in the culinary arts program at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center.
“This is a wonderful learning opportunity for our students,” Cohn said.
Cohn said Dave Long, chef and skills center culinary arts teacher, and his students will prepare lunch with Kerr.
Kerr will work with them in creating menus for both the lunch and the foundation dinner.
