While a Forks group protested immigration policy on Tuesday, a Port Angeles group plans a rally and march against Border Patrol roadblocks on Saturday.
The Tuesday protest in Forks was held in honor of Mexican Independence Day, said Layla Iranshod, an organizer.
About 100 people gathered at the Forks Transit Center and then marched to Tillicum Park, she said.
“We want to protest the current immigration policy,” Iranshod said.
“It isn’t a criminal thing being broken. It is an administrative law.”
She said that immigration officers have come into homes and taken people away.
“There is no way for an immigrant to legalize their status,” she said.
“The current laws are unfair.”
