Forks Forum to return

FORKS — The Forks Forum, which was suspended during COVID-19 cutbacks, is coming back.

The goal is to have the weekly newspaper based in Forks back in readers’ hands by May 14, said Publisher Terry Ward, who also is the publisher of the Peninsula Daily News and Sequim Gazette.

The Forum was one of 17 weekly newspapers Sound Publishing, Inc., suspended after a severe loss of advertising revenue due to COVID-19 precautions. The other newspapers are located in Grays Harbor, Kitsap, Snohomish and King counties.

The revised version will have the same content that Forks Forum readers depended upon, but with a couple of changes.

The community is being asked to subscribe to the paper to help support local journalism.

To subscribe, go to www.forksforum.com/subscribe.

It also will be converted to a broadsheet format rather than the tab size readers were accustomed to receiving.

In the meantime, the Forks Forum website at forksforum.com continues to be constantly updated with news of interest to those living on the West End of Clallam and Jefferson counties.

Bringing back the Forum restores the Olympic Peninsula News Group to its original three newspapers: the Forum, the PDN and the Gazette.

This is good news. We’ve missed covering the Forks community.

To send us news tips, or to make inquiries, call Forks Forum Editor Christi Baron at 360-374-3311, ext. 5050, beginning Monday.
