FORKS — The Forks Chamber of Commerce is looking for the best.
Nominations for citizen of the year, volunteer of the year and business of the year are due to the chamber by Oct. 31.
Nominees for the citizen award must be residents of the West End and active in the area.
Each nominee also must embody “selflessness, integrity and promote the good of the community through his/her profession and/or volunteer activities.”
The activities must be above and beyond the call of duty.
Last year’s winner was Mayor Nedra Reed.
The volunteer award is given to the volunteer most deserving of recognition for community service to a specific agency, and involvement in the West End.
Last year’s winner was Randy Messenbrink.
The business award is given to a Forks Chamber of Commerce member business deemed most deserving of recognition for community service and involvement.
Criteria include evidence of good business ethics and employee support.
Last year’s winner was West End Surf Shop.
The awards are to be surprises.
To nominate a person or a business, submit the name, which award the nomination is for and a description of why the nominee should win, along with the nominator’s name and phone number.
