PORT TOWNSEND — Authorities have arrested five people for investigation of selling methamphetamine.
The Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement team made the arrests Friday at three homes located in Port Townsend and Port Hadlock, said Port Angeles Police Sgt. Eric Kovatch, who is also an OPNET investigator.
OPNET consists of officers from each of the law enforcement agencies in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
The five — Randall L. Yackulic, 48, Ryan J. Herb, 26, Andrew P. Peterson, 23,and Linden M. Clark, 38, all of Port Hadlock, and Steven J. Wilson, 45, of Port Townsend — are alleged to have been selling together as much as 1.5 pounds of meth a week, Kovatch said.
All five remained in the Jefferson County jail Saturday. No bail had been set by Saturday.
They were arrested on investigation of delivery of a controlled substance and using a building for drug purposes.
Kovatch said the arrests are a “big deal for Jefferson County.”
Three children, ages 10 and 17, were put into protective custody following the arrests, he said.
The investigation started about four months ago, Kovatch said.
He said more arrests are expected.
Earlier this month, OPNET arrested seven alleged meth dealers in Port Angeles and Forks.
Kovatch said the arrests are not related.
