Motorists on the North Olympic Peninsula awakened this morning to some gasoline stations showing $4 a gallon or more for regular unleaded gas.
This came as the AAA auto club reported to The Associated Press that the average price of a gallon of regular in Washington is $3.88, according to the AAA’s survey taken over the weekend.
That’s up six cents in a week and 24 cents in a month. And it’s 11 cents higher than the national average.
The lowest regular unleaded price in a spot survey of North Olympic Peninsula non-membership gas stations was $3.939. A popular Port Angeles service station offered the lowest grade at just a mill under $4 at $3.999 a gallon.
Some average prices from the AAA survey for cities in Washington state:
Bellingham $3.98, Bremerton $3.90, Seattle-Bellevue-Everett $3.89, Tacoma $3.88, Olympia $3.91, Vancouver $3.81, Yakima $3.84 and Spokane $3.78.
