PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System will host the final competition of this year’s Battle of the Books at 6 p.m. Friday.
The competition, between fourth-graders across Clallam County, is based on the five books the students read during the school year.
Unlike past years, where each school fielded a team, students will be assigned to teams at the beginning of Friday’s contest.
This year’s books are: “Stella Díaz Has Something to Say” by Angela Dominguez, “Fuzzy Mud” by Louis Sachar, “Front Desk” by Kelly Yang, “The Season of Styx Malone” by Kekla Magoon, and “Aru Shah and the End of Time” by Roshani Chokshi.
