“Iron Jawed Angels,” a docudrama about the struggles of U.S. women to secure the right to vote, will be screened in Port Angeles and Sequim this weekend.
On Friday, the screening will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Raymond Carver Room at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Admission is free.
On Saturday, the film will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
The suggested donation is $10.
Prior to the screening, Jessica Claiborne, Caitlin Macy-Beckwith, Sharon DelaBarre and Stephanie Speicher will portray suffragettes as they greet audience members and promote the right of women to vote.
The film will be introduced by film critic and author Rebecca Redshaw.
The League of Women Voters of Clallam County is offering the film in celebration of Women’s History Month.
This award-winning HBO docudrama, starring Academy Award winners Hilary Swank and Anjelica Huston, tells the story of the harrowing struggles women endured to secure the right to vote.
Light refreshments will be served, and an audience discussion with league members will follow the screening.

“Iron Jawed Angels” is recommended for mature teens and adults.
