FBI seeks witnesses to alleged assault outside Elwha River Casino

PORT ANGELES — The FBI is seeking witnesses to an alleged domestic violence assault that occurred in the Elwha River Casino parking lot last Oct. 21.

Specifically, investigators want to speak with two women who left the casino and returned to their vehicle as the alleged assault was taking place in the early morning hours.

“One of the females returned to the casino and notified security who responded as the assault was concluding,” FBI spokeswoman Ayn Dietrich-Williams of the FBI Seattle Field Office said in a Tuesday email.

“The two female witnesses subsequently left the casino before law enforcement had the opportunity to talk to them further.”

The women left in a 2001 to 2003 silver Dodge Durango that was missing a standard roof rack and had a handicapped sticker affixed to the front mirror.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to contact Special Agent Ted Halla at 360-394-8145 or seattle.fbi @fbi.gov.

The FBI is investigating the alleged incident because it was said to have occurred on tribal land.
