Farmers group lavender fest lists sponsors

SEQUIM — The Sequim Lavender Farmers Association has more than 25 sponsors and partners for its new Sequim Lavender Farm Faire, one of two festivals planned for “lavender weekend” July 15-17.

Presenting sponsors to date for the Farm Faire are John L. Scott Real Estate – Sequim; First Federal; Sequim Gazette; and George Washington Inn, according to Scott Nagel, association executive director.

Major sponsors, Nagel said, are an anonymous donor who goes by a Klallam tribal language name, Na’sa’n ne’a’y’; Best Friend Nutrition; Black Ball Ferry Line-MV Coho; The Cedars at Dungeness; Nash’s Organic Produce; Olympic Distributors; Olympic Springs; Olympic Peninsula Wineries Association; Olympic Restaurant Supply; and SkyRidge Golf Course.

Supporting sponsors are Fish Brewing; KSQM 91.5FM; Olympic Cellars; Pike Ale; QFC; and Sequim Valley NAPA.

Business partners are Holiday Inn Express; Quality Inn & Suites; LoBo Designs; and Clipper Vacations.

Faire Partners are Olympic Gentle Paws; Clallam County Master Gardeners Foundation; Sequim Family Advocates; Sequim Museum and Art Center; and Boy Scout Troop 90.

Friends of Lavender are Alder Wood Bistro; Dave & Trish Bekkevar; Gary D. Lange, DDS; Gilgal “Oasis” RV Park; Jeanne Martin, CPA; Landmark Property Management; McComb Gardens; Platt Irwin law firm; SunLand Golf and Country Club.

“We are so gratified with the tremendous support we have received from the business community, said Nagel.

“We are continuing to talk with the business community as there are even more sponsorship opportunities for the Faire.”

The Farm Faire will run the same weekend as the 15th annual Sequim Lavender Festival.

The Sequim Lavender Festival, the original festival for the lavender weekend, is produced by the Sequim Lavender Growers Association.

Its major sponsors include Subaru of America Inc.; Kenmore Air; QFC; LoBo Designs; Innovation Law Group Ltd. of Sequim; and Peninsula Daily News.

The Sequm Lavender Festival’s food, music, lavender products and crafts fair will be on Fir Street between Sequim Avenue and Third Avenue in downtown Sequim.

The Farm Faire food, music, lavender products and crafts fair will be at Sequim’s Carrie Blake Park and has been christened “Lavender in the Park.”

Both festivals will have tours of Sequim lavender farms.

Members of the new farmers group broke off from the growers group earlier this year.
