EYE ON THE PENINSULA: County commissioners, school districts to meet

Meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

County commissions, ports and school districts are set to meet next week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss a letter from the Revenue Advisory Committee regarding the Department of Natural Resources’ current pause on timber sales during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners also will discuss collective bargaining in executive session during a special meeting at 1 p.m. Monday.

• An agreement with Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center to conduct “We’re in this Together” seminars.

• Pre-application questionnaire with the state Department of Commerce for a Connecting Housing Infrastructure Program grant for water and sewer hookup fees for Peninsula Housing Authority’s Eklund at Gales development.

• Discussion on regarding priorities for the 2026 budget.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 4 regarding adoption of the 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program.

• A resolution appointing Beverly Lee and Sarah McBride to the Homelessness Task Force.

• A letter to the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe regarding trust land transfers.

• Call for request for proposals and qualifications to be received by 3 p.m. Sept. 22 regarding Developmental Disabilities funding for Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2027.

• Amended agreements with SWCA Environmental Consultants for the county’s Community Wildlife Protection Plan and for Smoke Impacts and Climate Analysis.

• Agreement with Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs for monitoring of registered sex offenders.

• Agreement with the city of Sequim for Flaura’s Acres utility services.

• Agreement with Puget Sound Partnership for onsite septic management planning.

• Agreement amendment with U.S. Forest Service for additional Secure Rural Schools Act funding.

• An amended agreement with the County Road Administration Board regarding the Edgewood Drive Project.

• Resolutions to adopt certain budget revisions and supplemental appropriations.

• A public hearing regarding an ordinance amending Clallam County Code Consolidated Fee Schedule for the Clerk of Superior Court.

• A public hearing regarding an ordinance repealing and replacing Chapter 27.08 of the Clallam County Code, Open Space.

• A public hearing regarding a resolution to adopt several debatable emergencies.

• A commissioner forum for 45 minutes. This is a new type of item and will repeat on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
