EYE ON JEFFERSON: Some boards meeting this week but most set for New Year

Most Jefferson County boards, commissions and councils do not meet this week in observance of the Christmas holiday and have canceled any prior scheduled meetings. Some have scheduled meetings in January 2018.

Jefferson County commission

The three Jefferson County commissioners have canceled their meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.

They will meet next at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

An agenda was not available as of Saturday.

Port Townsend City Council

The Port Townsend City Council will not meet this week.

The council’s next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

On the agenda for the Jan. 2 meeting are:

• Oath of office for newly elected council members.

• Election of mayor and deputy mayor.

• Council committee interim assignments;

• Advisory board and planning commission appointments (consent);

• Resolution authorizing 2018 Lodging Tax expenditures.

Port Townsend Planning Commission

The Port Townsend Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.

Parks, Recreation and Tree Advisory Board

The Port Townsend Parks, Recreation and Tree Advisory Board meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.

Port Townsend Arts Commission

The Port Townsend Arts Commission will meet next at 3 p.m. Jan. 3 in the City Hall first floor conference room at 250 Madison St.

Historic Preservation Committee

The Port Townsend Historic Preservation Committee will meet next at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 in the City Hall third floor conference room at 250 Madison St.

Council Finance and Budget Committee

The Port Townsend Council Finance and Budget Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.

Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board

The Port Townsend Non-Motorized Transportation will meet next at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4 in the City Hall first floor conference room at 250 Madison St.

Port Townsend schools

The Port Townsend School Board will review its affirmative action plan when it meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4.

The meeting will be in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.

Items on the agenda include:

• Superintendent mid-year evaluation (executive session);

• School Board Appreciation with proclamations and reception;

• Restraint and isolation incidents (Policy 3246).

Port of Port Townsend

The Port of Port Townsend commissioners meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.

The commission will hold a special meeting Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 9 a.m. (warrant approval only) at the Old Alcohol Plant, 310 Hadlock Bay Road, Port Hadlock, followed by a staff retreat at the same location until 4 p.m.

Quilcene School Board

The Quilcene School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The board will meet in Room 9 at 294715 U.S. Highway 101.

Jefferson PUD

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2.

The meeting will be at 230 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will perform the oath of office and election of board officers when they meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2.

The commissioners meet at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
