The Port Townsend City Council will consider extending the suspension of utility shutoffs, late fees and penalties to Dec. 31 when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This would be the second extension for the utility shutoffs since March, when COVID-19 hit residents’ finances hard.
The council also will conduct a public hearing on modifying the code relating to day care centers and pre-schools. The staff said in the agenda memo that requiring them to be listed as a conditional use was an error.

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss a draft 2021 budget and a draft scheme of harbor improvements when they meet in a workshop at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and a COVID-19 model update at the 1 p.m. regular meeting that day.
