Jefferson County commissioners will discuss use

The three Jefferson County commissioners will discuss the use of Coronavirus Relief Funds at a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke, public health officer, at 9:45 a.m., followed by a discussion about projects proposed for Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF).

More discussion, and input from six community groups, on j is planned for 2 p.m.

An executive session to talk about about actual litigation is set for 1:30 p.m.

On the consent agenda are agreements ranging from river studies to health programs

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider extending the suspension of utility shutoffs, late fees and penalties to Dec. 31 when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This would be the second extension for the utility shutoffs since March, when COVID-19 hit residents’ finances hard.

The council also will conduct a public hearing on modifying the code relating to day care centers and pre-schools. The staff said in the agenda memo that requiring them to be listed as a conditional use was an error.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss a draft 2021 budget and a draft scheme of harbor improvements when they meet in a workshop at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and a COVID-19 model update at the 1 p.m. regular meeting that day.

During the morning, the assessor will give a recommendation on the property tax levy amount for the 2021 budget.

The afternoon meeting will include a draft organizational chart and possible ratification of a Teamsters contract.

The comprehensive scheme of harbor improvements is expected to be approved in October.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss broadband strategies and review the second volume of the water system plan during a special meeting that will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday.
