The Port Townsend Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on zoning regulations for medical and recreational marijuana when it meets Thursday.
The commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City hall, 540 Water St.
After the hearing, commissioners will consider a recommendation to the City Council.
Commissioners also will hear a critical areas ordinance update.
County commissioners
The three Jefferson County commissioners will discuss refunding a bond used for dispatch center improvements and costs of designing and purchasing land for a wastewater treatment plant when they meet Monday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in chambers, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The first reading of the terms for refunding the bond will be at 10:30 a.m.
Estimated total savings on bond debt service through 2030 is $149,794.
At 10 a.m., commissioners will conduct a hearing on proposed third-quarter budget appropriations and extensions.
Items on the consent agenda include:
• Set a public hearing for 10 a.m. Oct. 24 on changing the expiration date of the imposition of the Rural County Sales and Use Tax.
• Approve a $334,085 contract with Stanley Security for purchase of software and hardware and installation of security cameras.
• Approve three-year extension of agreement with the Hoh Tribe for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to provide law enforcement services, which it has done since 2009. The tribe will pay $200,000 annually.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will discuss 2017 budget priorities and an updated long-range financial forecast when it meets Monday.
The workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall.
Other city committee meetings, which are in conference rooms at 250 Madison St., unless otherwise noted, are:
• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee — 3 p.m. Tuesday, third-floor conference room.
• Civil Service Commission — 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, second-floor conference room.
• Arts Commission — 10 a.m. Saturday, special meeting for a funding application seminar.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider approving the 2017 budget when they meet Wednesday.
The regular meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in chambers, 333 Benedict St.
Commissioners will discuss the draft 2017 budget at a workshop at 9:30 a.m.
During the regular meeting, commissioners also will consider a lease with Shanghai Chinese Restaurant and August year-to-date financial results.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will evaluate the superintendent when it meets Monday.
The special meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
Board members also will discuss operating principles between the board and superintendent.
