The Port Townsend Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on several proposed text amendments related to housing when it meets for a special meeting Monday.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Port Townsend City Hall, 540 Water St.
Lance Bailey, the city’s development services director, will present the amendments.
The Planning Commission might vote to recommend any changes to the full city council. The proposed amendments are related to the definition of family, a table related to modulation, a section related to accessory dwelling units, a section related to cottage housing, and a table that displays the types of residential structures allowed in the city’s R-IV zoning district.
Port of Port Townsend
The Port of Port Townsend will swear in a new commissioner during a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at the Port Commission Building, 333 Benedict St., Port Townsend.
Pam Petranek, who was elected to the commission in November, will take an oath of office.
Commissioners also will vote on the election of officers, and committee assignments for port staff and commissioners will be established.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board is scheduled to review its affirmative action plan when it meets for a work/study session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in the Gael Stuart Building, Room S-11, 1610 Blaine St.
The board also will discuss reorganizing after voters passed a measure to establish director districts in 2019.
The school board will have a special meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday for board member onboarding activities.
