The Port Townsend City Council will discuss the 2016 budget when it meets today.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council will receive data about the number of the city’s full-time employees, now 93.8, which is down from the 2010 total of 107.5, which was the highest level since 1999.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall.
Other city committee meetings are:
■ Lodging Tax Advisory Committee — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, third-floor conference room, City Hall at 250 Madison St., Port Townsend.
■ Joint Growth Management Steering Committee — 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Pope Marine Building, 100 Madison St.
County commissioners
The three Jefferson County commissioners will discuss third-quarter 2015 budget appropriations and extensions for various county departments when they meet today.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The hearing is part of a regular process where departments seek budget adjustments for the current fiscal year.
At 1:30 p.m., commissioners will be briefed on the six-year transportation improvement program.
They are expected to set a Nov. 2 public hearing on the plan.
Items on the consent agenda include:
■ Allocating $77,208 in state funds to evidence-based programs in Jefferson County Juvenile Services.
■ A $54,952 professional services agreement between Jefferson County Public Health and the Port Townsend School District for school nursing and a similar agreement, but for $49,7979, with the Chimacum School District.
■ A $6,177 professional services agreement between Jefferson County Public Health and Concerned Citizens for Community Access.
■ An agreement to allocate $10,850 in state funds to education and therapeutic services for children birth to 3 years old at the Port Townsend School District.
■ An agreement to allocate $9,500 to the Fort Townsend Shoreline Restoration Education and Outreach project. Money is to be reimbursed to the county by the Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Foundation.
■ Renewal of a license agreement to use county property Fire Station 51 in Discovery Bay to continue fire and rescue operations.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will consider its policy on enrollment rights and services for homeless students when it meets today.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
The board also will consider the bid requirements policy.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss sponsoring a feasibility study that supports a new Quilcene septic system and consider the 2016 budget when they meet Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at 333 Benedict St.
It will be preceded in the same location by a public workshop at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the 2016 budget.
The budget will be presented as an action item at the afternoon meeting.
Commissioners also will consider awarding a contract for $32,870 to Topper Industries of Woodland for floats for the boat ramp.
They will discuss bid results for the Armory Building fire protection system.
Chimacum schools
The Chimacum School Board will hear reports on school improvement plans and a superintendent evaluation overview when it meets Wednesday.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock.
