EYE ON JEFFERSON: Port Townsend City Council to consider pacts with chamber

The Port Townsend City Council will discuss agreements with the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce for operation of the visitor center and for joint marketing services when it meets Monday.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The city’s support for the visitor center is not to exceed $103,000. The amount for marketing would be capped at $17,500. Funding would come from lodging tax revenue.

The council also will consider refinancing a portion of the city’s debt.

It will hear the annual report of the Fort Worden Lifelong Learning Center Public Development Authority and consider amending its charter.

The council will consider assigning interim regulation of marijuana, parking issues and city-owned video cameras to study by city committees.

No council office hours are scheduled this week.

Other city meetings, which will be in conference rooms at City Hall, 250 Madison St., unless otherwise noted, are:

■ Historic Preservation Committee — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, third-floor conference room.

■ HUD Loan Committee — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Port Townsend Main Street Office, 211 Taylor St., Suite 3.

■ Arts Commission — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, first-floor conference room.

■ City Council Community Development and Land Use Committee — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, City Council chambers. On the agenda are proposed code changes related to marijuana.

■ Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board — 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., first-floor conference room.

County ­commissioners

The three Jefferson County commissioners will open bids for the Upper Hoh Road culvert replacement project at a meeting Monday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

The engineer’s estimate for the project, which is fully funded by the Federal Highway Administration, is $916,000.

The culvert will be replaced with a 20-foot, three-sided box culvert.

Work will include reconstructing 800 feet of roadway over the new culvert.

Items on the consent agenda include:

■ An agreement to allocate $1,750 for the replacement of the Quincy Street fence at Memorial Field.

■ Scheduling a hearing for 10 a.m. April 18 to discuss first-quarter 2016 budget appropriations and extensions.

■ A resolution to re-establish Jefferson County’s cash drawer for the management of petty cash.

■ A resolution to establish a revolving fund for authorized expenditures on behalf of the county’s Tourism Coordinating Council through the Hotel Motel Fund.

■ Additional grants to the Jefferson County Historical Society for $9,438 and to the Forks Chamber of Commerce for $4,300 from lodging tax funds.

Jefferson Healthcare

Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will review policies and bylaws Tuesday.

The special meeting will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Jefferson Healthcare Conference Room, Suite 302, on the third floor at 2500 W. Sims Way.

Jefferson PUD

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.

No agenda had been posted by Saturday.
