EYE ON JEFFERSON: Port to discuss jetty funding alternatives

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss funding alternatives for replacement of the Point Hudson jetties during their regular session at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be in chambers, 333 Benedict St. It will be preceded by a public workshop at 9:30 a.m. at which commissioners will consider leasing practices.

During the afternoon session, commissioners also will consider a draft resolution on alternative fuels and a revised organizational chart.

County commission

The three Jefferson County commissioners will continue deliberations on the 2018 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Review and Unified Development Code amendments when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend. An executive session on potential litigation is set for 10:30 a.m.

Items on the consent agenda include:

• A $306,824 contract with Apply-A-Line LLC of Pacific for pavement marking.

• An interlocal cooperative purchasing agreement with the City of Port Townsend.

• A funding agreement for emergency repairs on Upper Hoh Road.

• Adoption of a 10-year plan created in 2015 for ending homelessness.

At the 1:30 p.m. county administrator briefing, commissioners will hear updates on changes in recycling due to new policies in China and the long haul and disposal contract and on the work plan for the commercial shooting facility review.:

City of Port Townsend

The Port Townsend City Council will discuss the storm water management plan and six-year transportation plan when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The workshop will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The council also will consider the Nonmotorized Transportation Advisory Board’s activities and recommendations.

Other city committee meetings are:

• Library Advisory Board — 3:30 p.m. Monday, Library Learning Center at the Charles Pink House at 1256 Lawrence St.

• PEG Access Coordinating Committee — 3 p.m. Tuesday, Gael Stuart Building at 1610 Blaine St.

• Planning Commission — 6:30 p.m. Thursday, council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

School Board

The Chimacum School Board will consider a proposal to change the food service model when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road. An executive session to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee is set for 8:20 p.m.

The superintendent will present recommendations for the next school year’s food service, including hiring a four-hour-per-day food service director.

The board also will consider adoption of the district’s wellness policy and procedures, hear reports on the budget and enrollment and hear about West Sound STEM accomplishments.

Fire District No. 3

Clallam County Fire District No. 3 commissioners will discuss a proposed levy lid lift resolution when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The special board meeting will be at the district’s headquarters station, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.

Peninsula College

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 1, Peninsula College, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The board will meet in the Cornaby Center at the college, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
