Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss a lease option for the Landfall Restaurant site Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in commissioners’ chambers at 333 Benedict St.
The meeting is preceded by a 9:30 a.m. workshop in the same location, where a marina and boatyard survey will be discussed.
Russell Harding, owner of the Cup Restaurant, is interested in acquiring the site of the former Landfall Restaurant at Point Hudson.
During the afternoon meeting, commissioners will consider an engineering contract with Reid Middleton of Everett for Automated Weather Observing Systems at Jefferson County International Airport.
The company would be hired on a “time-plus-expenses” basis, with compensation estimated to be no more than $98,994.
Commissioners also will discuss a port management agreement and a strategy in Quilcene.
Jefferson County
The three Jefferson County commissioners will open bids for the purchase of hybrid sedans when they meet Monday.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The small hybrid sedans for county use will accumulate about 12,000 miles per year and be used for light transport.
Following the bid opening, the commissioners will conduct two executive sessions.
After the first session, set for 10:15 a.m., commissioners are expected to consider action in open session on compensation for Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Mark Johnsen.
After the second session, set for 11 am., they are expected to consider in open session revising the eligibility for land use and development of some lots within Termination Point.
The commissioners had earlier prohibited their development.
Action would include filing a voluntary dismissal of the county’s lawsuit against Russell J. Trask and Trask’s dismissal of his counterclaim against the county.
Items on the consent agenda include:
■ A proclamation declaring the week of May 11-17 as National Police Week and to observe May 15 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day.
■ An agreement to add a technical amendment in the collective bargaining agreement for Jefferson County Public Works employees.
■ An agreement to purchase 2014-19 hearings examiner services in an amount not to exceed $35,000 per year.
■ An agreement to purchase and service a security system for the Quilcene Solid Waste Drop Box facility in the amount of $1,638 plus a $42 monthly service fee and another agreement for the Transfer Station Scale House and Office for $52 per month.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will discuss long-term financial forecasts at a meeting Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council will discuss setting up financial performance measures, aiming for a fluid cash fund of between 5 percent and 8 percent of the budget to cover emergency needs.
If the fund exceeds that amount, money could be allocated to other sources, such as compensating for cash flow shortages.
The council also will look at Mountain View and Port Townsend Library plans and discuss its travel and purchasing policies.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Another city committee meeting this week is the PEG Access Coordinating Committee.
The meeting will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
Port Townsend Planning Commission
The Port Townsend Planning Commission will discuss the Howard Street overlay project Thursday.
The special meeting will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at City Hall, 250 Madison St.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will conduct a public hearing on potential budget revisions for debt service when it meets Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
The board will consider approval of the school calendar and student fees when it meets Monday.
The board also will consider approval of its highly capable program and conduct a first review of high school graduation requirements.
