EYE ON JEFFERSON: Port considers tax levies

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider preliminary recommendations for 2022 property tax and Industrial Development District tax levies during a workshop at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The commissioners will review the July year-to-date financial report during a regular session at 1 p.m.

The consent agenda includes an amendment to the collective bargaining agreement.

County commission

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on applications for 2021 Conservation Futures funding when they meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The projects under consideration for funding include Big Quilcene River/Moon Valley acquisitions, Camp Discovery Creek acquisition, Hannan Farms, Quimper Wildlife Corridor additions and Schmidt Farms Phase II of Quilcene headwaters to bay.

Items on the consent agenda include resolutions to declare property excess, an agreement for $30,500 to Parents for Parents, an agreement with Dr. Berry for $63,291 per year for public health officer services, an interagency agreement for $5,250 to increase awareness and accessibility for residents with disabilities, an agreement for $111,600 for employment services from Skookum Contract Services and several advisory board appointments.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider approval of the sale of debt to Kitsap Bank by the Fort Worden Public Development Authority when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Strait ERN is one of the Puget Sound Partnership’s Local Integrating Organizations working to implement the Action Agenda for Puget Sound protection and recovery.

It includes all of the tribes and local jurisdictions, and most of the non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and key business groups with interest in the Strait Action Area, which extends from Cape Flattery near Neah Bay east to Point Wilson in Port Townsend, said coordinator John Cambalik.
