EYE ON JEFFERSON: PDA, Miller Peninsula on state parks board agenda at Fort Worden

Government meetings throughout the county

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will consider a lease amendment with the Fort Worden Public Development Authority and hear an update on long-range planning at Miller Peninsula State Park property when it meets at Fort Worden State Park from 8:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

The meeting is in the Commons conference space, 200 Battery Way. Those who attend in person will be required to comply with state law concerning personal protective equipment and if sick they can’t attend.

Public comment was taken in writing up until Friday. Commissioners also will conduct a work session with staff from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday in the same place.

The commissioners will tour Fort Worden at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Mystery Bay and Fort Flagler at 9 a.m. Friday. The public is welcome to attend the tours but must provide their own transportation.

The commissioners also will conduct a work session in the Commons from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday; the session is open to the public, but no public comment will be allowed.

County commission

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a workshop regarding solid waste facility replacement when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Allison Berry at 9:45 a.m., conduct a hearing about inactivating road improvement funds 202-000-030 and 602-000-010 at 10:30 a.m., hear updates from elected officials and department directors at noon and consider adopting the ninth temporary county policy on the emergency response to COVID-19.

Items on the consent agenda include a call for bids for culvert replacement under Thorndyke Road, a contract for $2,977,715 with Skookum Contract Services for recycling services, an agreement for up to $644,535 for Otak, Inc. for the Olympic Discovery Trail – Anderson Lake connection project and an amendment to the agreement with the Greg Pushman Company for an additional $5,500 for executive search services.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider delegation of authority to the executive director when they meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will hear several presentations during a special meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Board of Jefferson Transit Authority board will reorganize during a special meeting at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Chimacum School Board will consider a five-district redistricting plan when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
