The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider setting a public hearing for proposed amendments to county code regarding no-shooting areas when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
If approved, the public hearing would be scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 6 in commissioners’ chambers.
One proposed amendment would prohibit shooting into a no-shooting area from outside of it. The other would correct the map for the Chimacum Creek No Shooting Zone to make its boundaries more readily enforceable by law enforcement.
Items on the consent agenda include:
• A grant agreement with the state Department of Ecology to protect shellfish and eelgrass beds from boater impacts.
• Approving and signing a contract with Diggin’ It LLC to install an infiltration drainfield in the Quilcene Community Center parking lot.
• The reappointment of Lisa Crosby as District 1 citizen representative for the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
A quarterly election officials/department head meeting will take place at noon.
During the county administrator briefing session at 1:30 p.m., commissioners will hear an update on Jefferson County Cooperative extension director transition planning.
At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Finance Committee will meet in the first-floor conference room at the courthouse.
Port Townsend city
The Parks, Recreation and Trees Advisory Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall’s first-floor conference room, 250 Madison St.
The Port Townsend City Council does not meet this week.
The Council Finance and Budget Committee and Planning Commission meetings for this Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, have been canceled.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will hold a special meeting and first public hearing on the 2018 budget when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at the Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101, Quilcene.
The port will go into executive session to discuss the acceptable value of two leases before adjourning.
Chimacum School Board
The Chimacum School Board will adopt on first reading various policies with no changes or minor updates when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.
The board will go into executive session to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee before adjourning.
North Olympic Peninsula Development Council
The North Olympic Peninsula Development Council will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the John Wayne Marina, 2577 West Sequim Bay Road, Sequim.
An agenda was not available as of Saturday.
Fort Worden PDA
The Fort Worden Public Development Authority board meeting originally set for Wednesday has been canceled.
Clallam County Fire District No. 3
Clallam County Fire District No. 3 commissioners will hold a special meeting to conduct a workshop on the 2018 budget at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The special meeting will be at the headquarters station, 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
