The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on a draft ordinance establishing a moratorium on commercial shooting facilities during a special meeting at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in The Commons at Fort Worden State Park, 200 Battery Way, Port Townsend.
The regular meeting will be earlier in the day, starting at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
During the regular meeting, the commissioners will hear the county Planning Commissions recommendation that they allow future shooting ranges to be only indoor facilities.
They also will conduct a hearing on the possible lease of vacant office space at the Brinnon Community Center.
In addition, deliberation and potential action might be taken on the county’s proposed 2020-21 biennial budget.
Items on the consent agenda include initiating the Conservation Futures funding cycle for 2020, several items related to Jefferson County Juvenile Services, school-based mental health services through Behavioral Health Counseling and a change order for recycling services for an additional amount of $163,739 for a total of more than $1.3 million.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will hear two special presentations when it meets for a workshop at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Council will hear a presentation of the public art plan and an update on the parks, recreation and open space plan.
The council’s Rules Committee will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday in chambers.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider establishing a dedicated reserve account for Industrial Development District monies when they meet in regular session at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The regular session will be in chambers, 333 Benedict St. It will be preceded at 9:30 a.m. by a public workshop for the introduction of the draft comprehensive scheme of harbor improvements update.
Additional items on the agenda include a lease for the schooner Martha and a revision on the Marine lease. There also will be a 2020 rate correction and co-op property acquisition and lease amendments.
An executive session will be conducted to evaluate the qualifications of applicants for public employment.
Chimacum School Board
The Chimacum School Board will have new members take the oath of office when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.
A horticulture class will present a garden proposal. Teacher Gregory Reed’s class has been working on a native plant garden project on the main campus.
Athletic Director Tony Haddenham will update the board on proposed athletic leagues for the 2020-21 seasons.
Public Utility District
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss the opt-out resolution for meters when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 63 Four Corners Road.
Action items on the consent agenda include the West Valley Road tree trimming bid award and the Irondale substation conduit vault bid project.
Development authority
The Fort Worden Public Development Authority board’s executive committee will discuss construction projects and leasing updates when it meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at Seminar, Building 297, at Fort Worden, 200 Battery Way.
Board of Health
The Jefferson County Board of Health will hear an update on vaping-associated lung injuries when it meets at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
The board also will hear draft environmental public health fee policy and proposed fees for 2020.
In addition, it will discuss criteria for considering Board of Health resolutions, and it will discuss climate change as a public health emergency.
Peninsula College
Peninsula College trustees will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
They will meet in the Cornaby Center on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
