The three Jefferson County commissioners will be updated on efforts to find a site for the 2019 Port Townsend Rhododendron Festival carnival at a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The county informed Rhody Fest organizers last year that it would be the last time it would host the carnival at Memorial Field because of the damage heavy carnival equipment does to the playing field.
Since then Commissioner Kate Dean has worked to find an alternate location.
At 10 a.m., Dean, Port Townsend Mayor Deborah Stinson, County Pubic Works Director Monte Reinders, festival President Brandi Hamon and others will discuss efforts to find a site. The festival will be May 12-19.
Commissioners also will consider action on the Planning Commission’s recommendation to amend county code in regard to development regulations.
Two closed sessions are planned. One will be at 11 a.m. to discuss collective bargaining. The other will be at 1:30 p.m. to consider real estate pricing.
Commissioners also will consider, on the consent agenda, approving a $4,648 agreement for controlling noxious weeds at the Solid Waste Transfer Station.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will consider housing recommendations when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council will consider action on recommendations made by the Council Housing Committee concerning surplus housing rezone.
It will also consider amending stormwater rates, a solid waste service contract and a water, sewer and stormwater utility rate program for licensed adult family homes.
Also meeting this week will be the Council Housing Committee at 3 p.m. Thursday in council chambers at historic City Hall.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will review the district’s wellness policy when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
The board also will consider approving school calendars, student bell schedules, and meal prices. It will recognize the Port Townsend School Hero and the high school Knowledge Bowl tam.

Jefferson Transit
Jefferson Transit board members will consider amending a resolution concerning the acquisition of real estate when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet at the transit facility at 63 Four Corners Road.
They also will consider contact renewals with the Jefferson County Farmers Market and with PTeRider.
Public Utility District
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss a CenturyLink update and a noxious weed agreement when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 63 Four Corners Road.
Commissioners also will discuss the Moss Adams agreement and a revised policy for residency.
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue commissioners are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at Station 1-5, 35 Critter Lane, Port Townsend.

Fort Worden Public Development Authority
The Fort Worden Public Development Authority Executive Committee members will discuss the Makers Square bid process when they meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in Seminar Building 297 at Fort Worden.
The panel also will discus the summer event schedule and review 2019.
It will recess into an executive session to review personnel matters and lease terms and conditions.
Lead Entity for Salmon
The North Olympic Peninsula Lead Entity for Salmon’s citizens policy team will review bylaws, discuss legislative budget issues and project funding needs and initiatives at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in Room 205 at the Lincoln Center, 905 W. Ninth St., Port Angeles.
The Lead Entity is a consortium that works to advance salmon habitat protection and restoration on the North Olympic Peninsula for watersheds flowing into the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will discuss volunteer reimbursement when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The commissioners will meet at 323 N. Fifth St., Sequim.
They also will discuss emergency medical services levy renewal.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
