EYE ON JEFFERSON: COVID-19 update on Jefferson County agenda

The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke, county health officer, when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

At 10:30 a.m., commissioners will conduct a hearing on Conservation Futures funding projects for 2020.

Proposed projects include Arlandia, Carleson Chimacum Creek operations and maintenance (O&M), Duckabush Floodplain O&M, Hannan Farm, Quilcene Headwaters to Bay Preservation (2020), Ruby Ranch Preservation (2020), Snow Creek Watershed O&M, Upper Tarboo wetlands acquisition and restoration.

At a 1:30 p.m. briefing, commissioners will discuss COVID-19 county coordination.

The consent agenda includes approving a contract with Elections Service and Software, LLC for mail ballot verifier.

The cost of $153,422 will be borne by a federal grant.

Board of Health

The Jefferson County Board of Health will hear an update on the application to enter Phase 3 when it meets at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The board will consider a draft policy extending onsite septic system permits during the COVID-19 emergency.

The board also will be updated on COVID-19 activity and response.

It will discuss local compliance with wearing face masks and plans for reopening public schools.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will discuss how it should prepare a request for proposals for management of the Port Townsend Golf Club when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will hear a rate setting presentation when they meet at 10 a.m. Monday.

East Jefferson Fire-Rescue

East Jefferson Fire-Rescue commissioners will meet virtually at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Housing Authority

The Peninsula Housing Authority board will review a statement on Black Lives Matter at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Other agenda items include a director’s report and a resolution to approve an accounts receivable collection write-off.

Peninsula Housing Authority serves both Clallam and Jefferson counties.
