EYE ON JEFFERSON: County update on COVID-19 planned Monday

The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke, county public health officer, at 9:45 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

Chimacum schools

The Chimacum School Board will discuss the district’s response to the COVID-19 threat when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.

The superintendent will update the board on actions taken in response to the spread of COVID-19.

The board also will consider a modified school calendar and her about potential capital projects.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will consider water and sewer fee schedule when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 210 4 Corners Road in Port Townsend. The office is the current temporary headquarters of the PUD.

Commissioners had adjourned its March 17 meeting until this coming Tuesday to prepare for changes necessitated by the COVID-19 crisis.

The PUD will provide a speaker phone in its conference room for the public to attend the adjourned meeting but officials urge resident to attend remotely.

The meeting of the Jefferson Healthcare commissioners originally set for Wednesday has been cancelled.
