EYE ON JEFFERSON: County to review public works plans

The three Jefferson County commissioners will be briefed on public works capital improvement projects during a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.

The briefing session with Monte Reinders, public works director and county engineer, will begin at 1:30 p.m. It will include a preliminary draft capital improvement plan, an analysis of park inventory, an update on the Jefferson Universal Movement Playground (JUMP), and information about the Olympic Discovery Trail.

At 9:45 a.m., commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Allison Berry, health officer, and Dr. Tom Locke, deputy health director.

Items on the consent agenda include agreements for mental health navigator funding, behavior support plans for individuals will intellectual or developmental disabilities and for decommissioning of three wells on county property.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Housing Task Force

The Jefferson County – City of Port Townsend Affordable Housing and Homeless Housing Task Force will hear a presentation on the Pfeiffer House when they meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Parks and recreation

The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will review a capital improvement report during a special meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will conduct a hearing on a resolution to move $605,000 from banked property tax capacity to the city budget when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The Chimacum School Board will consider fall reopening plans it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
