EYE ON JEFFERSON: County to consider redistricting plan

The three Jefferson County commissioners will be updated on the 2021 redistricting plan with draft maps when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The meeting is in the commissioners’ chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1920 Jefferson St.

Commissioners plan to move to executive session to discuss potential litigation.

The commissioners also will:

• Hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Allison Berry.

• Open a request for proposals for a supported employment program for individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Consider repealing and replacing land use ordinance 05-1004-21.

• Hear the annual update from the Climate Action Committee.

• Conduct a workshop on 2021 comprehensive plan.

• Hear a budget briefing from Mark McCauley, interim county administrator.

Items on the consent agenda include a resolutions to establish new salaries for certain elected county officials and to construct Pittsburg Avenue, agreements to re-roof the Gardiner Community Center, replace flooring in the jail lobby, move a fiber optic line on Castle Hill, monitor solid waste facilities and for marine stewardship projects.

Association of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will discuss preliminary 2022 budget numbers and an American Rescue Plan Act funding proposal when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The commissioners also will host a special workshop to discuss the Quilcene outreach campaign at 6 p.m. Wednesday

The Chimacum and Port Townsend School Boards will be conduct a combined board retreat at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The Chimacum School Board will hear an introduction to the multi-tiered system of supports when it meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
