EYE ON JEFFERSON: County to consider 2018 budget

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider adopting a final 2018 budget at 10 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will start at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

Commissioners also will consider a 2018 wage matrix for non-union employees and consider certifying levies for collection of taxes in 2018.

Three executive sessions are planned to discuss potential litigation and collective bargaining..

Items on the consent agenda include:

• Execution of an emergency road reconstruction contract for $150,000 with Seton Construction Inc., for a washout at mile post 8 on Upper Hoh Road.

• A contract for $135,000 with PPC Solutions, Inc. of Spokane Valley for two years of courthouse screening services.

Port Townsend City Council

The Port Townsend City Council will consider authorizing a contract for construction of the Water Street overlay when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The contract would be for $200,000 with Interwest Construction, Inc.

The council also will consider an agreement with the Jefferson Clemente Foundation for city sponsorship of the January Clemente course.

It will discuss stormwater management and the Rainier Street/Sims Way corridor subarea plan.

The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will conduct a special meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the third-floor conference room at City Hall, 250 Madison St.

Port Townsend Planning Commission

The Port Townsend Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on the comprehensive plan at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The panel will meet in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The commission also will hear an update on the Rainier Street/Sims Way corridor subarea plan.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss issues related to the work on the south jetty at Point Hudson when they meet in a public workshop at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Commissioners will meet in chambers at 333 Benedict St. A regular session is planned there at 1 p.m.

During the morning session, commissioners will heard information on the current bonding market and bonding options and will hear an update on work status of the jetty.

At the regular session, commissioners will consider a labor agreement, an organizational chart, moorage and RV rates and the October financial reports.

Chimacum School Board

New Chimacum School Board members will take the oath of office when the board meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.

The superintendent will report on a high school forum with parents last week and the board will review several policies.

Quilcene School Board

The Quilcene School Board will swear in newly elected board members when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The board will meet in Room 9 at 294715 U.S. Highway 101. The regular meeting will be preceded by an executive session to discuss negotiations at 5 p.m.

The board also will consider action on an IMC committee report, a facility committee report, a coaches negotiation committee, and discuss policy concerning homeless students and high school graduation requirements.

Jefferson PUD

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss smart meters when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 63 Four Corners Road.

Commissioners also will discuss broadband strategy choices, a work plan budget for the Water Street project, property at 210 Four Corners Road and water rates.

Peninsula College

Peninsula College trustees will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

They will meet in the Cornaby Center on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

An agenda was not available as of Saturday. It is expected to be posted at http://pencol.edu/aboutpc/board/agendas 24 hours before the meeting.

Peninsula College

Peninsula College trustees will conduct their December meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be in the Cornaby Center on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
