EYE ON JEFFERSON: County to hold public hearing on code of conduct

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on a proposed code of conduct at county facilities at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

Commissioners will consider a proclamation expressing appreciation for the Jefferson County Road Division staff and the County Shop staff for dedication during recent winter storms.

They also will discuss a draft of a joint resolution of the commissioners and the Board of Health to establish a regulatory reform program for the county.

A bid opening for a contract for pavement marking is set for 10 a.m.

Commissioners will consider certification of the annual inventory of capitalized assets as of Dec. 31.

Items on the consent agenda include:

• Notice of a hearing at 10:30 a.m. March 11 to sell surplus property.

• An interlocal agreement with Jefferson County Public Health and Kitsap and Clallam counties for a regional answering service program.

Joint committee housing

The Joint Oversight Board on Affordable Housing and Homeless Housing, which is made up of county and city representatives, will consider ideas for membership of a Local Homeless Housing Task Force when it meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The board will meet in the county commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St.

It will review the role of the board and of a draft facilitator request for proposals.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider signing a contract with Peckham & McKenney Inc., to assist with city manager recruitment when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The council also will discuss the final draft of the stormwater management plan and direct the Council Finance and Budget Committee to review a stormwater rate proposal from FCS Group.

The council will recess into an executive session to consider the selection of a site or the acquisition of real estate by lease or purchase.

Other city committee meetings, which are in council chambers at City Hall, 540 Water St., are:

• Council Ad Hoc Committee on Committees — 1 p.m. Wednesday.

• Council Ad Hoc Committee on Housing — 3 p.m. Thursday.

Quilcene School Board

The Quilcene School Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The board will meet in Room 9 at 294715 U.S. Highway 101.

No agenda was available as of Saturday.

Jefferson Transit

Jefferson Transit board members will consider acquisition of property when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The board will meet at the transit facility at 63 Four Corners Road.

The board also will consider a contract with JE Gibson Consulting for a restroom project manager/engineer.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will consider action on the meter program when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 63 Four Corners Road.

Commissioners will hear of options for the meter replacement program and direct an evaluation.

They will consider rescinding a resolution concerning emergency work on Swansonville Rod.

They also will hear about amount of calls the PUD received during the last snowstorm.

East Fire-Rescue

East Jefferson Fire-Rescue commissioners will discuss annexation matters when they meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be at Station 1-5, 35 Critter Lane, Port Townsend.

Commissioners will discuss the next steps after voters approved the annexation of Port Townsend into the fire district.

They also will discuss volunteer recruitment and retention and news from the Wildland Fire Advisory Committee.

Public Development

The Fort Worden Public Development Authority Executive Committee will discuss Makers Square when it meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The panel will meet at Commons Building 210 Room B at Fort Worden, 200 Battery Way.

The panel also will recess into executive session to review personnel matters and lease terms and conditions.

Strait ERN

The Strait Ecosystem Recovery Network will hear a report on the Strait Oil Spill Geographic Response Plan when it meets at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The winter quarterly meeting of the group will be in Red Cedar Hall at the Jamestown S’Klallam Community Center in Blyn.

The group also will consider the next steps for Clallam Conservation Futures, receive an update on the legislative session and hear about culvert inventory in Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) 19, which is the Lyre-Hoko river basin.
