The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider authorizing a sales and use tax for affordable and supportive housing when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The resolution would not change consumer tax collections. Instead, it would redirect a projected $82,728 from existing sales and use taxes to create a new revenue stream to support affordable housing.
Items on the consent agenda include a scheduling a public hearing for Nov. 4 on an ordinance that would expand the current no-shooting area on the Coyle peninsula.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will conduct a special business meeting when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council will read a proclamation in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day, and then it will hold a workshop to discuss updates to financial policies and draft purchasing policies.
Preliminary 2020 budget numbers also will be discussed.
Other city committee meetings, which are in council chambers unless otherwise noted are:
• Transportation committee, 3 p.m. Wednesday. Members will review the Adams Street closure and recommendation.
• Housing committee, 3 p.m. Thursday. Members will review housing task force criteria for homeless housing services’ competitive grant process and request for proposals.
Jefferson Transit
Jefferson Transit board members will consider authorizing the general manager to sign purchase orders for four new buses when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet at the transit facility at 63 Four Corners Road.
Commissioners also will consider amending the purchasing policy and the credit card policy.
Public Utility District
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a resolution to adopt the agency’s 2020 budget when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 63 Four Corners Road.
Commissioners also will discuss a work plan for its citizen advisory board in addition to an email retention policy.
Conservation Futures
A subcommittee meeting of the Jefferson County Conservation Futures will discuss climate change at 1 p.m. Monday.
The special meeting will take place in the Dosewallips room at Jefferson County Public Health, 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
Jefferson Healthcare
Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will have a day-long work session when they meet at 8 a.m. Monday.
The board will meet in the Victor J. Dirksen Conference Room on the first floor of 834 Sheridan St.
The special session will include a facilitator, Karma Bass, and CEO Mike Glenn.
The agenda will include a generative governance presentation, self-assessment results, board policy book revisions and action planning for 2020 and beyond.
Board of Health
The Jefferson County Board of Health will hear performance measures when it meets at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at Jefferson County Public Health, 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
The 2018 performance measures will cover both the targeted clinical health services and the communicable disease program.
The board also will hear updates on the Quilcene School-based health center, changes to Title X family planning funding, WIC transition to EBT cards and the department’s Cascade Software transition.
Additional agenda items include the multi-state outbreak of lung injuries associated with vaping, and preparation for the coming flu season.
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue commissioners will conduct a budget workshop when they meet at 1 p.m. Friday.
The meeting will be at the fire district’s administrative headquarters, 24 Seton Road, Port Townsend. Public comment will be accepted.
Development authority
The Fort Worden Public Development Authority executive committee will hear a lease discussion presentation when it meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be at the Seminar Building (Building 297) at Fort Worden, 200 Battery Way.
The committee also will hear from a branding working group, staff planning a retreat and plan for 2020.
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will hear a risk reduction report when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will be at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Commissioners also will cover third quarter financial reports, the 2018 annual report, and a human resources and training services contract renewal.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St., Room S-11.
