The three Jefferson County commissioners will discuss a moratorium on recreational marijuana businesses when they meet Monday.
The special meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Cotton Building, 607 Water St.
Unless extended by direct action by the commissioners, the moratorium will expire Wednesday.
At its last regular meeting, commissioners took no action.
Commissioners can vote to extend the moratorium as is, extend it in an exemption for parcels larger than 5 acres or craft their own resolution.
Also on the agenda is discussion and possible final enactment of the county’s new noise ordinance, which is intended to implement consistent enforcement standards.
Items on the consent agenda include:
■ A call for bids for the Dowans Creek Road realignment to be accepted until 9:30 a.m. and opened and read publicly at 10:15 a.m. March 9.
■ An agreement to supply Gibbs Lake County Park caretaker services in the amount of $12,000.
■ An agreement to allocate $38,500 for solid waste management plan consulting services.
■ An agreement to allocate $2,100 for maintenance of the District Court audio system.
■ Awarding a $98,409 contract to G. Little Construction Inc. of Port Townsend for courthouse window rehabilitation.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will discuss emergency preparedness routes and responsibilities at a workshop Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall.
No other city meetings are scheduled this week.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss the disposition of Boat Haven restrooms at a meeting Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in chambers, 333 Benedict St.
No morning workshop is scheduled this week.
Commissioners also will consider renewing a contract of not more than $20,000 with Windridge Solutions for communications strategy advice.
They will consider authorizing the director to hire a part-time engineer for a capital facilities plan.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will hear a facilities and capital projects report and consider a revised policy on suicide prevention when it meets Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Gael Stuart Building, 1630 Blaine St.
Chimacum schools
The Chimacum School Board will hear budget status reports for January when it meets Wednesday.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. in the high school library, 91 West Valley Road.
Peninsula College
The Peninsula College Board of Trustees will discuss tenure and consider action on a resolution concerning the local government investment pool when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. in the Cornaby Center (A-12) on the Peninsula College campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Also on the agenda is a presentation on financial aid.
