EYE ON JEFFERSON: County considers CARES Act funding for city

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider action to provide up to $144,150 of CARES Act funds to the city of Port Townsend when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

At 9:45 a.m., commissioners will hear a report on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke, county health officer.

They also will set a hearing for 11:15 a.m. Nov. 15 on a proposed ordinance to establish the bidding and contracting process for all county offices, departments and subdivisions.

Items on the consent agenda include a notice for a Nov. 16 hearing on setting 2021 Ad Valorem taxes and a resolution to adopt a county-wide Americans with Disability Act accommodation policy.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will conduct a public hearing on an ordinance to adopt a 1 percent increase in property tax levies for 2021 and a $1500,000 capital improvement levy for Mountain View Commons when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The Quilcene School Board will meet for a work study session at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
