EYE ON JEFFERSON: County commissioners to reorganize board on Monday

The three Jefferson County commissioners will reorganize the board when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

An executive session is set at 10:45 a.m. to discuss potential litigation and another at 10:45 a.m. will be to discus selection of a site or acquisition of real estate.

Commissioners will discuss board and committee assignments on the regular agenda.

They will consider on the consent agenda community services grants of $145,510 for Olympic Community Action Programs and of $3,320 for the Gardiner Community Center, as well as a lodging tax funding grant of $43,400 to the Forks Chamber of Commerce.

Also on the consent agenda are agreements with the state to provide an additional $14,945 for a total of $153,999 to the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee and with Kitsap County for youth detention services.

Commissioners also will consider an interlocal agreement with the Jefferson County Library, a heating system upgrade for the Hadlock Road Shop and an access agreement on East Uncas Road.

PT City Council

The Port Townsend City Council will consider adopting the city three-year strategic plan when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The council also will consider an updated accident prevention program and new committee and liaison assignments.

Other city committee meetings, which are in conference rooms at City Hall, 250 Madison St., unless otherwise noted are:

• City Council Ad Hoc Committee on Committees — 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, council chambers, 540 Water St.

• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee — 3 p.m. Tuesday, third-floor conference room.

• Historic Preservation Committee — 3 p.m. Tuesday, third-floor conference room.

• Community Task Force on City Manager Recruitment — 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, council chambers, 540 Water St.

• Planning Commission — 6:30 p.m. Thursday, council chambers, 540 Water St.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider final approval of an operating reserve fund and a capital reserve fund when they meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The special meeting will be in the port commission building at 333 Benedict St.

Commissioners also will consider executive director authority, a resolution on meeting procedures, a supplemental lease agreement with the Coast Guard, billing adjustments in response to complaints, committee assignments, staff organizational chart revision and conversion to cash reporting.

The commission also will recess to a meeting of the Industrial Development Corporation of Port Townsend and will elect officers.

Quilcene School Board

The Quilcene School Board will discuss strategic planning when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The work-study session will be at 303 Maury Anderson Road, the Redmon residence.

The board also will discus a book study, a styles survey, the facilities operations goal, classroom management policy and minutes policy.

Jefferson Healthcare

Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will elect officers when they meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The special session will be in the Victor J. Dirksen Conference Room on the first floor of 834 Sheridan St.

The agenda says that the commissioners also will “introduce administrative committee assignments, review and discuss the Board Book, review and discuss the 2019 board calendar, finalize advocacy agenda and discuss other board business. Action may be taken.”
