The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider an ordinance amending the duties and responsibilities of the Jefferson County Board of Health and the appointments of its members at a meeting Monday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
If adopted, the ordinance would add the responsibility of coordinating the activities of the Clean Water District.
Items on the consent agenda are:
■ Approval and expedition of a special occasion liquor license application for the Jefferson County Community Foundation Fund for Women & Girls event May 10.
■ Accepting the resignation of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board member Garth McHattie.
■ Approval of advisory board reappointments for the Jefferson County Marine Resource Committee for Al Bergstein and Tony Patrillo to four year terms.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will begin considering the comprehensive plan docket when it meets Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Items tabled during the 2001 process will automatically be placed on the docket: a Jefferson Transit rezone, the Kah Tai Lagoon park policy and a reassessment of the Decatur Street Trail.
Items under consideration for addition to the docket are addressing Fort Worden goals, considering a Parkside Park rezone and a Beech Street rezone, and transfer of development rights.
The council also will adopt a public participation plan to be used during the development of the comprehensive plan.
The council also will consider an $800,000 engineering contract amendments with HDR Inc. of Omaha, Neb., for work on the city’s water system.
It will consider a memorandum of agreement with the Port Townsend School District concerning libraries.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
Other city meetings, which are in City Hall, 250 Madison St., are:
■ Arts Commission — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, third-floor conference room.
■ Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board — 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, first-floor conference room.
Planning commissions
The Jefferson County and Port Townsend City planning commissions will conduct a joint workshop Wednesday.
The workshop will be from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in City Council chambers, 540 Water St.
Discussion topics include education, economic development, sustainability and local food production.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will discuss district facilities and bonds during a retreat Monday.
The retreat will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1610 Blaine St., Room S-11.
Board members also will discuss the No Child Left Behind law, committee reports and the Maritime Discovery Schools initiative.
It will conduct a self-assessment and review technology.
Jefferson PUD
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss the district’s collection policy when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
Commissioners will discuss the website public notification process and a transfer of assessment.
Commissioners plan an executive session to discuss personnel.
