The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct public hearings on the 2022-2023 biennial budget and on redistricting when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 from Dr. Allison Berry at 9:45 a.m., conduct a public hearing on the 2022 ad valorem tax levies at 11:15 a.m.

Items on the consent agenda include fourth-quarter budget appropriations and extensions, adding the Rick Tollefson Memorial Trail to the annual construction program, a resolution establishing new salaries for the commissioners, an agreement with the Department of Transportation for state Highway 116 and Cedar Avenue improvement, an agreement with the county extension for $75,000 for noxious weed control and an amendment to the Hoh River restoration and management master plan.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider adopting the 2022 budget when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Port of Port Townsend

The Port of Port Townsend commissioners will host a public meeting, “We’re still listening, Quilcene,” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting is in the Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101, Quilcene.

Mask wear and physical distancing are required of all attendees; there is no remote access to this meeting.

The commissioners will hear the Quilcene report during a regular session at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Coordinating committee

The Fort Worden Coordinating Committee will discuss its 10-year unified capital projects list during its annual meeting at 1 p.m. Monday.

The meeting is between representatives of Washington State Parks and the Fort Worden Public Development Authority.

The Chimacum School Board will swear in new board members Roxanne Hudson, Mike Aman and Kathryn Lamka when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Strait of Juan de Fuca Ecosystem Recovery Network will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The Strait ERN is one of the Puget Sound Partnership’s local integrating organizations working to implement the Action Agenda for Puget Sound protection and recovery.

It includes all of the tribes and local jurisdictions, and most of the non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and key business groups with interest in the Strait Action Area, which extends from Cape Flattery near Neah Bay east to Point Wilson in Port Townsend.

Fire District 3
