The Sequim City Council will consider approving in principle the use of Polco to determine residents’ opinions of the planned medicine-assisted treatment center in Sequim when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The council will meet at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
The structure of the questions would be determined at a later meeting, according to the agenda bill.
Council members will consider approval of a Sequim Neighborhood Plan.
They also will consider an $89,800 contract with FCS Group for a 2020 Utility Rate Study.
The council will mull approving a hazard mitigation grant application letter of funding commitment for stormwater capture and infiltration southwest of city limits and a special events chapter of the city code..
It will welcome students and chaperones from Shiso, Japan.
The council expects to approve a resolution naming the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day. The day was designated a federal holiday in 1934, but as Columbus Day.
County commission
Clallam County commissioners will consider issuing a request for proposals and qualifications for 2020 behavioral health and related services at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The business meeting will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Proposals and qualifications from behavioral health providers are due Oct. 21. A total of $1 million is available for projects, programs or services delivered next year.
Other agenda items for the commissioners’ meeting include:
• An amended agreement with the U.S. Forest Service for additional funding.
• An amended resolution to reflect the current minimum wage.
• Resolutions adopting supplemental appropriations and a budget revision.
• A resolution authorizing Clallam County Public Works to accept a clean water state revolving fund loan from the state Department of Ecology.
• A public hearing for consideration of debatable budget emergencies.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Discussion items include:
• An agreement with the state Traffic Safety Commission to renew reimbursement funding to support the Clallam 24/7 sobriety program.
• An agreement with the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe for sewer transmission and road cost share for the Dry Creek Road reconstruction project.
• A resolution establishing right-of-way acquisition procedures and appointing staff responsible for various elements of the acquisition process.
• An agreement with the state Department of Ecology for funding for operations and projects related to a Northwest Straits grant.
• A state Community Economic Revitalization Board broadband planning grant.
Board of Equalization
The Clallam County Board of Equalization will discuss petitions when it meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The board will meet in Suite 4 in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners are calling a special meeting at 8:15 a.m. Monday so as to convene a business meeting after the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday was canceled, it announced Saturday.
The meeting will be at the port administration building at 338 W. First St.
The workshop meeting will focus on the final drafts of the 2020 capital budget and operating budget assumptions and 2020 property tax levy assumptions.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider naming a board member when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will meet at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
Board members will interview at 5:15 p.m. two candidates before possibly approving one during the regular meeting to fill the District 1 seat vacated by the resignation of Robin Henrickson.
The two candidates are Tom Sutton and Larry Jeffryes, who is running unopposed for the District 1 seat in the general election.
The board will recess into executive session right after the interviews.
They will consider adopting the amended 2019-20 budget, discuss legislative priorities and consider several school policies.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a work session on vacant properties at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The special meeting will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth. St.
Forks city
The Forks City Council will consider a license with SITA OnAir for air traffic monitoring at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be at Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider establishing the PUD’s 2020-2029 achievable cost-effective conservation potential and 2020-2021 conservation target at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the Lake Crescent Boardroom at the Carlsborg main office at 104 Hooker Road.
Other agenda items include a resolution authorizing the disposal of an unrepairable digital hydrometer.
Library system
The North Olympic Library System board will discuss budget, levy and fiscal planning when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The board will meet at the Sequim Library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.
The library system oversees public libraries in Sequim, Port Angeles, Forks and Clalalm Bay.
Crescent school
The Crescent School Board will discuss levy planning when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The board will meet in the Crescent School library at 50350 state Highway 112, Joyce.
A community planning meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9 in the school library.
The board also will hear a strategic plan update.
On the consent agenda are the adoption of board and superintendent goals for 2019-20, approval of a small works roster and measure to correct salaries.
