Clallam County commissioners will open bid proposals for design of the Dungeness River off-channel reservoir in a meeting that will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. In-person participation can be done with adherence to health protection guidelines. The meeting also can be viewed at www.clallam.net/features/meetings.html.
Clallam County plans to build an off-channel reservoir near River Road to provide more water for irrigation and other uses in the dry summer and early fall. It will have about 1,600 acre-feet of storage capacity.
Other action items for the meeting include:
• A resolution authorizing an expenditure from the Heritage Advisory Board grant fund.
• A resolution appointing Keith Larkin to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
• A public hearing on policy amendments for boards and committees.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Agenda items include:
• A continued discussion with Serenity House of Clallam County officials on the expansion of the Port Angeles shelter.
• An agreement with the state Military Department for the Operation Stonegarden grant.
• An agreement with Wilson Engineering, LLC. for an analysis of the Clallam Bay/Sekiu sewer project.
• Certification of a grant application match for an Olympic Discovery Trial segment between Forks and La Push.
• A discussion with Prevention Works!
• A resolution appointing Robert Filip to the Board of Equalization.
• A discussion on a county response to the state Department of Ecology regarding the Shoreline Master Program.
• A monthly budget performance review.
Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 1 p.m. Monday on two recommendations from the Charter Review Commission.
The recommendation are for Clallam County to hire a forester and to meet all housing needs by creating permanent housing.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will conduct a second reading and consider approval of a $4 per hour grocery store worker hazard pay ordinance at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Housing Authority
The Peninsula Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will consider a bond resolution and a facade grant application at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
