Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will host a joint meeting with Clallam County commissioners at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in the Lake Crescent Boardroom at the Carlsborg main office at 104 Hooker Road.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and provide updates on Clallam County sewer and water projects, carbon reduction efforts and community solar and electric vehicle charging station projects, PUD officials said.
According to the county commissioners’ agenda, 30 minutes will be allocated for the following topics:
• Sewer and capital construction projects.
• Carlsborg water rights.
• Small water systems, including Bullman Beach on the West End.
• Climate change.
• Carbon reducing efforts.
• Community solar and electric vehicle charging station projects.
Clallam County
Clallam County commissioners at 10 a.m. Tuesday will consider a proclamation recognizing the second Monday in October — Oct. 14 — as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
The business meeting will be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The purpose of the proclamation is to promote tolerance, understanding and friendship, and to combat the prejudice and discrimination stemming from colonization, according to the agenda.
Other agenda items for the business meeting include:
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Health for foundational public health services, public health emergency preparedness and maternal child health programs.
• A contract with Port Angeles School District to provide mental health school support services.
• A contract amendment with Shannon & Wilson, Inc. for the Lower Dungeness floodplain restoration project.
• Notice of bids due Oct. 22 for the Clallam County Courthouse and Third Street building signage improvements project.
• A call for Oct. 22 hearing on proposed changes to county policy for Board of County Commissioners operating guidelines.
• A resolution authorizing a $35,000 expenditure to the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce from the hotel/motel tax fund.
• Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Discussion items include:
• An agreement with Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center to coordinate all aspects of a coordination of services program.
• A contract amendment with Salish Behavioral Health Organization for the Criminal Justice Treatment Account, which supports therapeutic courts.
• An amended agreement with Tyler Technologies, Inc. to purchase advanced scheduling and time/attendance software used in connection with the Eden payroll system.
• An amended agreement with the state Military Department and Federal Emergency Management Agency to extend a grant end date.
• An amended agreement with Ecology and Environment, Inc.
• An agreement with the state by and through the Salmon Recovery Funding Board and Recreation and Conservation Office for the North Olympic Lead Entity for Salmon.
• A resolution authorizing an expenditure from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund for an approved 2019 lodging tax funding application.
• A resolution appointing Timothy Cochnauer to the Marine Resources Committee.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will hear reports on facilities and maintenance and on a recent mass casualty drill when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will meet at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
Board members also will consider final approval of policies on board and superintendent protocols and on a safe and orderly learning environment.
Conservation District
The Clallam Conservation District board will consider a contract for engineering services with Zenovic and Associates at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in Suite H at Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include a well metering pilot project update, irrigation efficiencies grant agreements with Agnew Irrigation District and Sequim Prairie-Tri Irrigation Association and cooperator and cost-share agreements.
Clallam Parks and Recreation District 1
Clallam County Park and Recreation District No. 1 commissioners will discuss changing the official doing business as name Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the Sequim YMCA, 610 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.
Other agenda items include a YMCA quarterly update.
Peninsula College
The Peninsula College Board of Trustees will conduct its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the Cornaby Center at the main campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd. in Port Angeles.
The trustees will hear standing reports from department leaders.
